Meet  Mark Piper

Mark Piper is a singer/songwriter/guitarist. Born in Maryland, he discovered the guitar as a teenager and hasn't put it down since! He has traveled all over the world and has lived in many parts of this great country. HIs nomadic lifestyle has helped shape the heart of his music and he is appreciative of a wide variety of music genres. His musical influences include Johnny Cash, John Prine and Jerry Garcia as well as guitar legend David Gilmour and jazz great Al DiMeola.

Mark has performed music for 35 years, either solo or with others. His musical experience varies widely, from busking on the street in different cities to being chosen to perform in Glenn Branca's "Symphony for 100 Guitars" which was performed at the Seattle Art Museum's 75th Anniversary Gala.  One of his life's highlights was to visit with Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash while Mark was  performing during the summer 1993 at the Glacier Park Lodge in Montana.

Mark's day job is the co-owner/innkeeper at the Schroon Lake Bed and Breakfast which he bought with his wife in 2009 when they moved from Seattle. When there is not a musical instrument in his hands, he can be found in the garden, by the fireplace with a good book, or playing with his beloved dog, Miss Dazy. His first  CD “ Steady as Rain “ was released in 2008 and is available on ITUNES, he continues to work on additional material.
